Strong-will Alpha meets Stronger-willed Omega. Another fantastic book in this Omegaverse series. If you don't know omegaverse, but want to give it a try (very dominating men, submissive--but not really--women) this is a great place to begin. For a novella, it's packed with action, romance, sex, dominance, and a perfect introduction to this genre. The characters grow themselves and with each other. It's a fun catch and capture ;-)

Fabulous and so consistent with the others in this series. Love this author!

The General definitely meets his match in fiery Ria. But there’s more to her story and it’s so beautiful the way it unfolds. The perfect amount of sizzle and sweet. Another great addition to the Lox universe!

Let me start by saying that I'm a huge fan of Zoey and have read all of her books. This one was a great surprise, as I was expecting the next book to come out in 2020. Even though it's a shorter story, it doesn't feel rushed at all. Thorec and Ria have great chemistry. I missed the MoO universe so much. And we even got a couple of scenes with Drocco and Cailyn.

Premise: CANDESCENT is a novella-length, fantasy Omegaverse romance that delves into the depths of dark, consuming love. This story is set in Zoey Ellis’ Myth of Omega world but is a standalone story with a HEA. For fans of possessive Alpha anti-heroes, feisty Omega heroines, and fiery romances. This story includes romance of a dark nature.

Setting: Eastern Lands

POV: Dual point of view between the hero and heroine in 3rd person narrative.

H rating: Thorec is the typical Alpha you'd expect from a Lox warrior, somewhat arrogant, overbearing, strong and determined; but he is also considerate and sweet.

h rating: I love Ria. I like my heroines feisty and willful. She has a strong personality and doesn't let Thorec push her around. She has a mission she needs to accomplish and a domineering Alpha will NOT stand in her way.

Overall thoughts: This is a must read. Loved the story, the characters and the setting. Kept me hooked throughout the whole book. Definitely waiting for the next short stories, yay!!!

I always will love me some Drocco and yasss he makes an appearance in this albeit all too brief, but Thorec comes close. I will always have a soft spot for the Lox and the worldbuilding Zoey masterfully does around them. The landscape of the various Lands within the Myth of Omega series is so vivid and fascinating. Thorec and Ria's love story is shorter than what I would've liked in that I would've liked to see more understanding on Thorec's part of Ria's struggles as Drocco did around Cailyn's as an Omega, but his strong desire to build a family of his own portrayed enough of an incentive to understand the deep love that evolved so quickly between them. I loved Ria as a character, that she was strong, crafty (in Magic as well), and gave Thorec a merry chase many times, even literally, in their story. She was more than a match for him and I actually enjoyed the fact that she genuinely enjoyed him as a partner without having first fallen into a Haze that takes her will out of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and it has Zoey's usually decadent eroticism. ;) Can't wait for the next installment with Roclan whom I've always felt bad for lol.

i'm so happy and excited that we get another book set in the MoO world! i have absolutely loved this whole series, and this addition did not disappoint me! even though i really enjoyed how the other books in this series were grouped in trilogies, there is something to be said about how satisfying it is to know you get that HEA at the end of a book (instead of waiting for it at the end of the 3rd book). even though Thorec and Ria's story was a standalone novella, it still brought the HEAT!! man!! does zoey ellis know how to make a reader sweat and swoon! i will always never hesitate on reading one of her books! *I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review*

With the new order established in the lox and the omegas found and available, general Thorec doesn't believe in the new methods that they're using to match them. The process seems tedious and clinical when he knows that finding his omega should be instinctual and spontaneous. Dealing with the people of the mountains is hard and when he finds out that someone broke the agreement he made to preserve peace he can't believe it, imagine his surprise when he founds out that she's an omega, one that he instantly finds himself attracted to.
Ria is there on a mission, she doesn't believe in love matches or that alphas are anything but abusers, she thinks that alphas are manipulative being that take everything from omegas and that omegas' nature makes them extremely vulnerable. When she's captured by Thorec, she wants to escape, no matter the cost, but she can't help but feel attracted to him and the way he touches her.
Ignoring what their bodies want is not an option and resisting is useless, but can he find a way to convince her that not all alphas are monsters? Is she going to try to escape him anyway? Is he going to claim her without asking? And if so, can she forgive him for it? Is there going to be a relationship at all?

This book is a steamy standalone that, even though is part of a bigger saga can be read separate from it. However, I recommend you read the whole saga, or at least the first three books so you can familiarize with the world they're in and fall in love with the other characters.

I absolutely love this series! Each Alpha and omega storyline leads to another world full of twists and turns. This one is no different. A young Omega searching for her own answers. A mature alpha who worked so hard for the Lox most of his life that is having to face some particularly unsatisfying personal facts. Thrown together and changes in their lives abound! Can't wait for the next one! I rec'd this book as an arc and I'm offering my own personal opinion.

This is an addictive Omegaverse novella that was absolutely incredible! I loved every word of it! Alpha General Thorec finds a female trespasser, Ria, on his property and finds she's a rare Omega, and his mate, he wants her and he's going to keep her. Ria is feisty, strong willed, and doesn't like to be pushed around. Ria flees from Thorec, but he chases after her bound to not let her go. I loved Thorec and Ria's story, their chemistry was steamy, the book was well written, with an intriguing storyline, and compelling characters. A definite must read and one you need on your shelf.

Hot, Hot, Hot
Wowee, what a fantastic Omega read this is. Zoey Ellis sure is a fantastic author and you will certainly not be disappointed with reading this book. Thorec and Ria are a stormy, zinging pair for sure. You really cannot afford to miss this standalone book but be prepared it is hot, hot, hot. 10 out of 10 for this one I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their love scenes are beautifully written and HOT!

Just when you thought that this series was over.... BOOM. This amazing author whips out another amazing Omega story. This story captures General Thorec (from Drocco’s Empire) hunt for his omega.

What did I like? Everything :) I was so happy to be grabbing another glimpse of this amazing series that it ended way too soon. Ria and Thorec were everything an alpha and his omega should be. Loved it!

Would I buy or recommend? No brainer... if you love the rest of the series then this is a spicy addition. If you haven’t read the series then your seriously missing out!

Holy alpha-moly!
I never though I could fall more in love with a series than what I already am, but I was wrong. It seems like every book that comes out in the MoO keep getting better and better. That takes skills people, skills.
Zoey brings a new couple, Thorec and Ria, along with some appearances from well known and loved past characters, and gives us a steaming, alpha-packed new book that does not disappoint.

With having read about 10 books in Zoey Ellis’s omega universe I went into the read having and idea of how the story would go. The surprise came with how enjoyable the relationship between Ria and the general envolved into. It was the same MO with omega and alpha dynamic but it was fun to see Ria make the general really work for their relationship and she purposely did it. In the end he was so freaking sweet and although it was the typical love at 1st sight with him to her rush I felt like toward the end of the book the relationship felt genuine.
