OWN TO OBSESS (Myth of Omega #8) PAPERBACK

So far from what I've read of Ellis' work this is the best series. Though I do feel the author needs to be a bit more inventive and descriptive with the spicy scenes. It's very repetitive and over within a page hahaha. I'm currently reading The Last Dragorai series and am finding that I'm a little bored with the sex scenes. They need more build up and they are pretty much all the same. Seems very rushed work. Quality over quantity please.

I stumbled upon this author in a free giveaway and accidentally picked up book 7 in another series. I immediately went out and bought everything else Ellis has written! Completely hooked, couldn't put this down. I loved the characterisation, the evocative world it takes place in, and the plot of the story arc across the series does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

Kardos is the most stubborn Alpha ever! He expects Shaya to conform to rules and obligations that she doesn't understand. Kardos is so centered on his quest to obtain the seat of High Chief, that he neglects Shaya except to mate with her repeatedly. Her body responds to him even though she is bewildered as to why she can't resist him. She feels he treats her as an object, something to assist him in his quest, and nothing more. Rozalia tries to help her see, but she can only tell her so much without incurring Kardos' wrath. Her friend Treska has disappeared without explanation, so she feels terribly alone. Unfortunately another cliffhanger, but the last book is available. Can't wait to read it!

This is a good book but having a hard time with the Akpha Kardos character. That is why I'm giving this 4 stars. The other alpha's were also dicks but he's just awful. The main character,Shaya, is also way to intimidating for everything. Now saying that the ending was awesome and it shows that Shaya is getting a backbone so I'm stoked for the next book!

The last book ended just how I wanted it to however this one has been a bit rough. His anger and her for taking away his consent was super annoying. It’s literally what he was doing to her, wether that was with magical potions (kind of a roofie situation there) or offering to gift her to someone not of her choosing. She chose to take her sisters place, not be given to someone else. He’s being a hypocrite. And that punishment was super f-ed up. He’s just going to abuse her when she messes up? What kind of example is that for their kids? The kids just get to hear her screams in a closet while she burns and hope it’s not so bad when it’s them that’s messed up? I thought some spanking or trust falls or something not that. It was a good build in world creating but this was a hard read and I think I need a break before I start the next one.

I really enjoyed this book but Shaya has been sheltered to her detriment by her sister. She's insecure, jumps to conclusions and typically is never correct with her assumptions. Kardos definitely should've explained the Discovery to her but her reactions to every thing small or large are quite extreme.

I am still firmly enjoying these books rushing through them and getting anxious to startvthe last one

This was the first time I read anything by this author. OMG😲 How have I never heard of this author before? I loved this whole series. Definitely going on top with my other top favorite authors. Now I'm ready for the next one.😍😍

Kardos and Shaya adventure continues with Obsess. Kardos will have the reader wanting to strangle the life out of him. But, I will give Kardos for his strong will personality and determination for the seat. Although, I feel Shaya is a quiet storm. She makes a choice. Read to find the outcome. On to Own to Obtain........

I like this whole series of the Alphas and their Omegas. The Alphas have been searching for the Omegas for years and years and they need them. In this story, the Alpha forces the Omega to come with him to a new country and they have a very tough time. Things are happening behind the scenes on both sides and the 2 in this story dont know about them, but kind they find love with each other. Good story.

Own to Obsess is Part 2 of a trilogy. Therefore these books must be read in order to understand the characters and story.
The author has done very well with this series and I am anxious to read the third book and find out what happens with Kardos and Shaya.
While there are some confusing details, they are extremely minor and a person can develop their own explanations without affecting the book. For example, the book revolves heavily about animal characteristics, such as alpha/betas and strong sense of smell, but never mentions if the people are some kind of shifter or some kind of super humans species.
These books are also definitely for adults! Please read only if you can be open minded.
Overall, I would recommend this book to friends who i feel would be able to enjoy reading it.

An amazing start to a poignant romance. As Shaya learns the depth of love and the cruelty of life. But as Kardos finds his love and mate, Shaya doubts and runs. The rest of this story concludes in the next book. I voluntary read and reviewed this advanced readers copy.

This book was quite a journey; the book begins and ends with a bang. With the POV bouncing back and forth you get an amazing insight to both main characters that I feel is necessary for this book. If it just followed Shaya's point of view I don't if I would've been able to keep reading the book let alone the rest of the series considering how Kardos is portrayed most of the time from her POV. It really does emphasis the importance of communication in a relationship to see how they see each others actions versus what they mean them to be. Being able to have Kardos's POV in this book helped me see him as more than just a domineering a**. It was wonderful to see him caring for her so delicately during parts and how he truly cared for her. This sequel also told us the story of Az Eshra and deepened the mythology of the world. Though I was confused to some aspects such as explanation of what kind of paranormals these people are.. Alpha, Beta, and Omega as well as some other aspects all strongly suggest shifters/weres, but then magic was also mentioned. I would've loved for that to have been clarified in the books.

Definite Reread Material ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is an amazing book! It has so many twist and turns. I thought I know what was happening only to find out I was wrong. I got so emotionally evolved I hated finishing the book. I even got my husband to read this one with me. This is a definite reread. I did recieve a copy of this book for an honest review.

I got into this series with the Crave trilogy and so far the serial about Kardos and Shaya (second book about our couple) has kept me interested in their story. I do find for me that Kardos is a little over the top in his Alpha tendencies in this dark romance toward Shaya but it still is a steamy read and we get glimpses of tenderness. Shaya, omega, is a likable character to root for in this book. In this book we get to learn why Kardos wants to become High Chief, and the bonding begins to bloom for our couple. The chemistry of the writing with its twist and turns kept me turning the pages to our cliffhanger for the next book. Be warn, this is a very,very dark romance because of Kardos behavior but still a highly enjoyable book to read and review. ARC

I received an ARC of this book along with the previous book so I could get caught up. I really enjoyed both of these and would be very interested in reading the entire series. This is a mythical land with odd customs in which the main character has been thrown into and must figure out as she goes with minimal information about it. Watching the bond grow between the 2 main characters is beautiful, but it does happen in a non traditional way. There are some aspects to this book which may offend some readers, so keep that in mind. Also, I do wish that we had more chapters from the male main character. I would like to have more insight into what he was thinking during parts of the book.

Hot! This book is very different from anything else I've read. I loved it!! It combines some animalistic, raw, and rough couplings with mystical surroundings. The male lead is stubborn and harsh, while the female lead is timid and small. The ending of this book was definitely a cliff hanger and i wish the book had gone on instead of ended. Some of the language was hard to understand, but from the exserts at the beginning the author wants the reader to learn the language as the female lead learns it. I love stories that bring in a different language to the story.

I am definitely looking forward to continuing this series!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoy the author’s writing style and found the story to contain all the aspects of a good read, but the subject matter just did not appeal to me. I love a good alpha but wish there was more control and decision making ability for his mate. This book will be enjoyable for many, just not for me.

This is the second book in the trilogy so you must read Own to Obey first as this book picks up exactly where the last one finishes. Shaya finds some inner strength in this book and tries to take some control but when she bites Kardos to force the mate bond she has committed a huge offence which may cost him the position of High Chief which was all but guaranteed to be his when her returned to the Southern Isles with an Omega. This book showed us more of who Kardos is, his thoughts, feelings and ambitions. This is a very dark read but oh so good. I voluntarily read a free copy for an honest review.

This is my second story by Zoey Ellis and i am hooked with the way she can draw you in and have you picture exactly what is happening. Shinno Kardos is not a light and fluffy hero. Forced consent, seemingly cruel and definitely arrogant. Katashshaya (Shaya) is meeker and more quiet, but underneath you can see her intelligence and determination to survive. This story is book 2 of a trilogy (Own to Obsess and Own to Obtain) round out the story. Kardos and Shaya's relationship has deepened and become even more critical, especially considering the fact that he is positive that he will become the next High Chief. But his continued denial of full disclosure with information in relation to Shaya causes no end of troubles. Ends in cliffhanger. Highly recommend reading book 1 first.

In this book, we continue on with Kardos and Katashaya's story as she begins to understand more about this new world she's now a part of. I love following along with her as she learns each new detail of this strange culture.
As I've previously stated on this series, if you prefer your romances with roses and candlelight, stay away from this series. If you like it on the darker side, you'll love it! Above all, remember this is fiction and written for your enjoyment. I really enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to start on the next one!

Wow this book is amazing. I love a good alpha and omega love story. My heart truly broke for the omega in this book as she suffered so much. I love that it was multi person view point. The sex scenes were hotttttt.... whew. I am looking forward to the next chapter of this story. One thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger.... but it's only because I'm spoiled I want to know what happens now..

Not a genre of book I go for but WOW!!!! I received a digital copy of this book for review.
I was skeptical about this book because I usually don't read books that have magic / potions sword yeilding characters but I really liked this book A lot. The power dynamic between the alpha and the Omega was just right. I enjoyed the character development for the alpha as he figures out how to handle his tribes task and deal with being bonded to an omega The ONLY Omega. And she survives some brutal feats herself. Will they finally get the chiefs blessing read to find out.

I can't say enough howuch I love this series. Each installment just gets better. This is my favorite! The relationship is so RIGHT but everything goes so wrong and there is only so much someone can be back burner before they make a stand. What does he think is going to happen? That she will thank him? I couldn't put this book down. Just like it's predecessor and soon to be its final installment.

This author needs several awards. My sleep cycle is completely thrown off because I need to read the next chapter even though I have work in the morning. It's so refreshing to get back to a book that does that to you

4 Stars for Shaya, and None for You, Kardos Koko! I enjoyed this as an interesting piece in this couple's trilogy, but Kardos continues to be problematic. I thought he had to overcome his actions from the first installment with some pretty huge leaps and bounds, and other than another punishment he bestows on Shaya, it seemed like he was making progress. Likewise, Shaya was making progress in learning the ways of the Southern Lands, and I loved her interaction with the High Chief. Honestly, if she hadn't panicked and bitten Kardos in 'Obey', I think she'd be better off with the chief! She doesn't have magic on her side, but her plant & potion knowledge serves her well, and I loved her foresight on a particular matter.

Even when things were looking up for both of them, I knew Kardos was going to eff things up again. He thinks he's doing all he can for his new mate, but still can't see beyond the goals he had before meeting Shaya. By the end, I was fed up with him as much as Shaya, and was cheering her on. They've both got some torment coming their way because of the bond, which I can say Kardos deserves, though unfortunately it will affect Shaya negatively as well. I can't wait to see how they get their HEA!

Let me start by saying that I have read only a handful of the genre because it is hit or miss for me. This series and characters have me drawn into their world. I am in awe of Shaya and her strength. Drawn between wanting to smack and dig depose in Kardos. Their worlds and their interactions have me wanting to see what happens next.
